GENERAL TERMS OF SALES
Working languages
The standard working languages of The Designer Label are English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
Delivery Format
Unless otherwise specified when ordering, texts are delivered in Word format. They may also be delivered in Excel, PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat. Any other format (QuarkXPress, In Design, etc.), may result in additional charges.
Cost estimates and orders
Orders for translation services must be submitted by e-mail or by post. The Designer Label will then provide a cost estimate. However, The Designer Label reserves the right to modify such cost estimates for valid reasons, provided that it immediately informs the Client.
Conditions (format, deadlines, etc.) are only valid after confirmation by The Designer Label. If the Client does not specify any delivery deadline, the order will be executed chronologically, i.e. in order of receipt.
If any extra text is added while the translation is already in progress, changes to the translation will be charged based on the prevailing translation rate.
If the document includes formulae and tables, the Client must indicate whether or not they are to be reproduced. If yes, an additional charge will apply, based on the prevailing translation rate.
All orders placed imply the Client's full acceptance of these Terms of Sale to the exclusion of any other document, without any reservation.
Documentation
In order to help ensure that the final translation is in line with previous texts, the necessary documentation for the work, such as previous versions of the same document, glossaries, lexicons, etc., shall be provided by the Client, if so desired.
Resource person
For any explanation, clarification, interpretation, information, etc., the Client shall communicate the name, mail address and telephone number of the resource person.
Rates
The Designer Label applies a variable billing rate system that takes into account factors such as the complexity, volume of the text and the deadlines. The basic rate will incur a surcharge in the event that it is an urgent job.
Jobs whose deadlines and volumes require work during the weekend or public holidays are considered urgent. An additional charge of 30% will then apply.
There is a minimum charge of 75€ for any translation less than 500 words.
Delivery
Documents are delivered by e-mail free of charge.
Payment
Invoices are payable upon receipt. Translations remain the property of The Designer Label until payment has been received in full.
Cancellation
In the event that the Client gives The Designer Label written notice of the cancellation, for whatever reason, of an order on which work has already begun, the Client is to pay The Designer Label the full contractual amount for the portion completed.
Confidentiality
The Designer Label undertakes to preserve the confidentiality of information of which it is apprized before, during and after the provision of services.
Liability
The liability of The Designer Label may in no case exceed the invoice value of the work in question. The Designer Label will in no case incur any liability with respect to claims related to nuances of style. Furthermore, The Designer Label shall not be liable for alterations made to its work by other persons. It is expressly agreed that delivery deadlines are only of an indicative nature, and that late delivery will not be give rise to penalties.
Court of jurisdiction
Despite the strict procedures ensuring the quality of our translations, we cannot be held liable for the consequences of any inaccuracies, omissions or errors. Complaints must be notified in writing within 7 days. This contract is governed by Nigerian law. The courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute arising hereunder.
